Broadcom netlink controller driver wont work for iphone
First off, I'd like to thank everyone in advance for their time and help with this issue.
I recently upgraded to windows 10 on my desktop. I've run into a problem with my 'Broadcom NetLink TM Gigabit Ethernet' card, basically the issue is that the internet connection will suddenly stop and show as limited access. I get the error message 'Default Gateway not available.' I can usually fix it by restarting the computer or auto troubleshooting, but then the connection could break again after as little as 5 minutes. I've been unable to fix this problem after hours of searching through the interwebs. Through my googling this seems like an old issue dating back to windows 7/8/8.1 (maybe longer?) and usually is resolved by updating or manually reinstalling a new driver. I can't find any help for windows 10, and the solutions presented online aren't working for me.
I've tried these fixes:

Broadcom Drivers Windows 7

  1. Disabling the firewall. (Failed)
  2. Updating the card automatically through device manager. (Failed)
  3. Uninstalling the driver completely to let windows recognize the card by itself on restart. (Failed)
  4. Looking for general windows updates. (Failed to solve problem.)
  5. Manually installing new drivers from the Broadcom website. (I noticed there were no newer windows 10 drivers available on the site. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place? Either way, it made me wonder if perhaps the reason this issue is happening is that there are no windows 10 drivers available for my Ethernet card?) (Failed)

At this point I'm at a loss for what to do. Please advise!
Desktop Specs, Dell XPS (2011) intel i7, 16 GB RAM, 1GB Nvidia GT420.

**Update 10 AM PST 8/15/2015**
At: Ethernet NIC NetXtreme I Desktop/Mobile | Broadcom I found a newer driver V 17.2.0.0 (8/5/2015) that looks like it would support windows 10. After downloading, I cannot install it.

Broadcom Net

1: I tried Device manager>Rightclick on 'Broadcom ethernet'>Update driver...>manually install>select folder with downloaded driver= 'Best driver is already currently installed. ' So since that didn't work. I tried replacing the drivers in C:Windowssystem32drivers, this also didn't work.
How can I install this new driver?
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 Motherboard, Windows 8.1 Pro, Antec 900 case.
My USB 3.0 ports don't work. If I try to uninstall some of the drivers/devices in Device Manager, the computer freezes. If I try to install the Asmedia_USB3_Win8-64_Win8(v1.16.2.0) Driver, the computer freezes. If I try to install the Broadcom_Lan(v16.2.4.1_64Bit) driver (update from 15.6.1.2) the computer freezes. When I tried to install or uninstall the driver for my Creative Sound Blaster X-fi go! pro USB sound card the computer froze. I opened the Task Manager and closed a bunch of programs and eventually got the Creative driver to install. Tried the same with the others and it still caused the computer to freeze.
Not sure what the cause of this was, but on 2/27/2014 I had an assignment for my A+ Hardware class to attempt to update my drivers, and the only driver that was out of date and updated was the ASMedia USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver.
The computer worked fine until several days ago when, all of a sudden, my USB 3.0 ports quit functioning. I have 2x USB 2.0 ports with my Creative USB sound card in one and the dongle for my Microsoft mouse and keyboard in the other. I have a Logitech F710 gamepad in one of the back USB 3.0 ports (I believe these run on the ASMedia driver) and occasionally I use a couple of flash drives in the front USB 3.0 ports (I think these run on the Intel 3.0 drivers.)
Anyhow, when they quit working several days ago I eventually just restored my computer to a few days earlier using System Restore and everything worked fine after that. Then today I was watching a movie on the computer - I went to restart the computer afterwards and was getting ready to play some games. After the restart, my USB 3.0 ports quit working again.
In the Device Manager, under Other Devices, there were two items with the yellow exclamation marks that were labelled as USB Root Hub (xhci). After uninstalling them and some other USB stuff in the Device Manager, they eventually said Unknown device, which is the label they currently have.
Under Universal Serial Bus Controllers I have ASMedia USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 0096 (Microsoft) and Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 0100(Microsoft)
Earlier today I managed to install the Asmedia_USB3_Win8-64_Win8(v1.16.2.0) successfully and things started working fine. At some point, before or after this, I really can't remember I also followed a guide to change the Intel_USB3_Win7-64_Win7(v1.0.4.220) so that it would work on Win 8.1 and it seemed to install just fine. After getting the 3.0 ports to work again, then front ones quit working yet again for no apparent reason, while the back ones still continued to work. Then, while messing around in the Device Manager, I accidentally updated the ASMedia USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 0096 (Microsoft) again and all 3.0 USB ports quit functioning again.
I read that Microsoft provieds the Intel 3.0 USB driver and that Intel stopped making them after Win 7. The ASMedia 3.0 USB driver provided by ASRock is listed under Win8 64, but not 8.1.
My mouse is USB so I cannot uninstall many of the USB drivers under Device Manager without stopping my mouse and keyboard from functioning. Trying to uninstall certain devices there causes the computer to freeze. Trying to install the Asmedia_USB3_Win8-64_Win8(v1.16.2.0) causes the computer to freeze. Trying to update my Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet adapter driver causes the computer to freeze.
I've spent all day searching and reading and can't figure this out to save my life. I really don't want to reformat, either.
Incredibly long and convoluted but that's what I have. Any ideas; anyone? ...
